Becoming an entrepreneur
Author: SamMany people in the job market right now have extremely marketable and specified skills. Except, there are no jobs where you can use them right now because of the way the economy has shuffled out. Big business is downgrading, but you can start thinking about upgrading your life. Have you ever thought about becoming your own boss? If you have, you already have that little spark of entrepreneurship in you.
Before you take the leap, there are some things you need to take into consideration. First off, this new endeavor does not necessarily mean steady pay. And you will have to find your own health insurance. Becoming an entrepreneur is risky but can carry very big rewards.
Figure out if you have the kind of personality that is needed to work out on your own. You may think you have what it takes, but self-employment can be quite daunting. Most people cannot handle not having a steady paycheck. Also, your business is always going to be on your mind, even when you take a break, especially in the beginning.
Before taking the plunge, talk to people who have gone out on their own. It never hurts to do a little research. Learning from other people’s experiences may give you the boost you need to get motivated or may make you rethink your decision, which is of course, completely fine!
You also need to start thinking about applying for loans. You will need start-up capital for your business and to keep your head above water while you are starting out.
Make sure you are passionate about your endeavor and choose something you think the market is missing. That’s what Steven Barbarich did after being unhappy with a spa he purchased. He started choosehottubsdirect.com after that.
Realize you are taking a risk, but it can be so rewarding.
