For visitors traveling to Dubai, UAE, hotel accommodations will offer many pleasant surprises.  With a luscious mix of old-world hospitality with contemporary amenities, the visit here will be steeped in style.  World-class design and luxurious splendor are the hallmarks here, and time spent here will be rejuvenating and fascinating.  Dubai is a city on the rise in terms of international reputation.  Noted for its multicultural cosmopolitan flair, glorious beaches, and a state-sponsored interest in the creative arts, Dubai has become a stopping place for global business and entertainment dignitaries from all backgrounds.

The film industry is one of the many industries on the rise here, and the astoundingly successful growth at the Dubai Film Festival is securing this location as a cinematic hotspot.  It is not only a place to show and see films, but increasingly becoming a place to shoot.  The recent filming of City of Life is a testimony to that.  Emirati director Ali Mostafa is the charismatic force behind the film, not only having served as director, but also worked on the screenplay with Tim Smythe and Jonny Brown, and story has it that the vision here is his Dubai.

The film is a complex intertwining of three stories: a young male Emirati facing a cultural identity crisis, an Indian cabdriver who looks like a famous Bollywood star, and a young Romanian woman who was once a ballet dancer now a flight attendant.  These lives interweave in fascinating ways that speak to an urban experience that can only be found in Dubai.  City of Life is the first full-feature film to be shot entirely on location here, and it will not be the last.  The filming was, in many ways, a unique venture into discovering what Dubai has to offer for other filmmakers.  Shot in 42 different locations, the intensive shooting schedule, though exhausting, highlights the diversity of locations here.  With beaches, shopping malls, amazing contemporary architecture, old markets, galleries, and plenty of street scenes, filmgoers will be treated to a view of Dubai that marks its exciting entrance onto the global film screen.
