Atlantic City may not be in New York City, though it certainly attracts many of its residents. It is of course a city in New Jersey that is famous for its boardwalk, beautiful sandy beaches, great shopping opportunities, and also and most prominently for its major casinos and gambling opportunities. Of the New York casino hotels and the multiple gambling centers and casinos offered across the river in New Jersey, the Borgata in Atlantic city is the most spectacular and highest grossing of them all. Tourist who visit the big apple may chose to stay in one of its entertaining and casino oriented hotels, though if they are gamblers, they are certainly likely to cross the bridge and end up somewhere in Atlantic City.

The Borgata, whose name means literally in Italian the little village, lives up to its name. This spa, hotel and casino comprise an area and facilities that can account for all the needs, entertainment and services one can expect or request on any vacation or getaway. It has played a major role in the revitalization of the city’s gambling industry and has contributed an element of prestige to the circuit. It first opened in 2003 and at the time it was the first opening of a new casino the city had seen for thirteen years. Since it’s opening, it has held the title of highest grossing casino in the city for every month of its existence, except for one. Card sharks like to play some top dollar sit down poker games like Texas Hold’em and Seven and Five Card Stud varieties. Black Jack is another popular favorite and the casino frequently holds major tournaments. Top professionals in the field can often be seen playing here. In addition to the thrill of gambling, the Borgata Event Center has hosted performers such as Stevie Nicks, Bon Jovi and Pearl Jam, making a stay here an unforgettable event.
