Young Leonard in NYC

Author: Sam

For cities that are rich in tradition and culture, offering a sense of austerity that speaks of generations of elegant customs and impeccable manners, New York has a spectacular sense of style and grace.  For cities that are young and exciting, offering an exuberant embrace of life in all its wildness, bringing the newest of everything into its chaotic whirl, New York has all the coolness anyone could ask for.  And there’s so much more to the story.  There are many, many sides to New York, USA.  Hotel reservations might be the first or the last thing on your mind, but they’re very important to coordinating your perfect New York adventure.

In a city with as many personalities as this, it’s a good thing to have lodgings in a place that’s centrally located, with an elegant touch of class, as well as a spirit of hospitality that makes it spectacular for sleeping, lounging, and beginning the day with the rhythm with which you’re most comfortable. Our hotels offer this, and a host of other delightful amenities that will help make your stay as lovely as you deserve.  New York is a funny place, and it offers many splendid things to those who are both hungry and well-connected, or at least, able to stumble upon stupid and crazy luck once in awhile.  Visitors here can walk in the footsteps of the young Leonard Cohen, who moved here from Canada when he was already well into his 30s.  The success from poetry was enough to at least get an ear when he turned to songwriting, and that changed the world.

It certainly changed Leonard Cohen, who is now into his 70s, and a stunning number of albums later.  He only releases new songs when he feels like it, and it’s not that often, but it adds up over time when you’re as perseverant as he is.  Or as obsessed.  As singularly obsessed with multiple objects of desire.  The last few years have been very productive, and thanks to a deal gone wrong, he’s had to begin touring again, and the rumors are that he needs the money to retire, or feels the alarm bells ringing for time on earth, and is saying a fond farewell to all of those who continue their complicated and tortuous love affairs with Leonard Cohen.
