It’s funny how many people dread an invitation to a costume party. While there are some people who are thrilled at every opportunity to recreate themselves, most see a costume party as a chore that they have to endure in the hopes of having a good time. These are the people who are responsible for the large number of cookie cutter costumes that show up at any party. They are completely missing the point of the event.

Costumes are about expressing hidden or recessed parts of one’s psyche. They are an opportunity for someone to show the world, or at least all their friends, that they have an interest, passion, or quirk that is generally kept out of sight. Maybe it’s overshadowed by other parts of their personality or maybe it’s just a minor interest that they don’t have time to share, but putting on a Beatles Costumes is the perfect way to express an unknown love for the Fab Five.

Some people even choose to express the opposite of themselves in order to understand themselves better. This is why villain and serial killer costumes can be popular. No one is going to think someone is identifying with Freddy Krueger, but maybe Freddy will learn something about his own ability to mesmerize or intimidate people that he didn’t know he had.

Storing Your Weapons

Author: Sam

There are many thousands, if not millions, of Americans who own at least one gun. Many own more than one. For many, going out to the desert or the shooting range is a great pastime. Others enjoy hunting and sport shooting. Whatever the case, Americans appreciate and take advantage of the right to own guns.

However as much as we enjoy that occasional hunting trip or outing to the range, for most of us our guns spend more time in storage than in use. But even unloaded in storage, guns can be dangerous to yourself or your family if they are not stored properly.

Every time you use your gun powder and oil build up in the barrel of the gun. While this is minimal amount after a few hours of use, over time it can build up to the point of causing a malfunction. So before you store your gun, it is important to make sure that your gun is properly cleaned , especially if you keep it on hand for personal protection.

Many gun owners prefer to hide their guns when they are not in use, whether it is in their closet or under their bed. Some gun owners, especially those who have several guns, use gun cabinets that can be locked. It is never a good idea to leave your gun out in the open; especially if there are children around!

Taking the time to properly care for and store your gun is the best way to keep yourself and your family safe.
