There are many thousands, if not millions, of Americans who own at least one gun. Many own more than one. For many, going out to the desert or the shooting range is a great pastime. Others enjoy hunting and sport shooting. Whatever the case, Americans appreciate and take advantage of the right to own guns.

However as much as we enjoy that occasional hunting trip or outing to the range, for most of us our guns spend more time in storage than in use. But even unloaded in storage, guns can be dangerous to yourself or your family if they are not stored properly.

Every time you use your gun powder and oil build up in the barrel of the gun. While this is minimal amount after a few hours of use, over time it can build up to the point of causing a malfunction. So before you store your gun, it is important to make sure that your gun is properly cleaned , especially if you keep it on hand for personal protection.

Many gun owners prefer to hide their guns when they are not in use, whether it is in their closet or under their bed. Some gun owners, especially those who have several guns, use gun cabinets that can be locked. It is never a good idea to leave your gun out in the open; especially if there are children around!

Taking the time to properly care for and store your gun is the best way to keep yourself and your family safe.

While staying in Punta Cana check out one of the more popular tourist attractions. The Dominican Republic Monster Truck Safari . This is an all day excursion and one you don’t want to miss. It’s heads and shoulders above the rest, because this unique tour takes you on an 8×8 Monster Truck that goes where buses and cars can not travel and where you’ll enter into the depths of the islands unspoiled countryside. You’ll see breathtaking landscapes, cross rivers, streams and ride through sugar cane fields. Visit some local villages and experience how the locals live.

You’ll be picked up at your hotel in Punta Canna and spend 9 to 10 hours before the excursion ends. What a fantastic way to spend time away from your hotel. Your adventure starts at the Monster Truck Safari office, where it’s recommended to put on your own mosquito spray or purchase some of their bug patches. You’ll then hop on one of three large Monster Trucks and off you go, where you’ll be entertained by the guides and hosts.

Lunch is served outdoors next to a riverside location, and is buffet style; drinks are served throughout the ride, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. After lunch, there is a little respite where everyone gets to lay in the sun on the riverbanks or explore for a little bit. When your tour begins again, you’ll be taken to visit a school, where you’ll get to see Dominican children learn their lessons for the day, and bring cash, because there are many gift shops there and the proceeds go to fund the schools. You’ll also get to visit a real Voodoo Doctors house and get to go inside to learn about the practice.

Upon coming back to your hotel, you’ll have a whole new perspective about the natural beauty and the life of the Dominicans. You’ll receive a deeper understanding of a beautiful culture and of a people who truly love their land.

My friend Tony had applied to the University of Cincinnati and at one point seemed pretty convinced that this was the place he wanted to go. I really didn’t expect him to ever sit down and actually pick a school, but to be honest he had me believing that he was going to go there. Well, at least I believed he actually sent of his application. And he’s really a pretty bright guy, and has a solid grade point average and did well on the SAT’s . I had no reason to believe he wouldn’t be accepted, he just has always seemed so laid back and kind of slackerish, oh and incredibly absent minded. I just didn’t expect him to make a decision and go anywhere.

However, that’s all history and he told me had applied at Cincinnati and a couple other schools I don’t remember now. What I definitely remember is Tony asking me to go with him that summer to check out the campus and maybe find a place to live. I was so surprised by his initiative, and also interested in visiting the city, that I immediately accepted the invitation and even offered to make hotel reservations and look up flight information. We actually had a great time on that trip and Cincinnati is a really cool city. We made it to the camps and both Tony and I really liked it. I even had a moment of wishing I had applied there, though I was more than happy to be going to my home state school and keep the job I’ve had for two years.

We happened to be in town when a Reds game was happening. Tony wanted to go because he wanted to find out what a game with his impending team was going to be like. And it was absolutely thrilling. Cincinnati seems like a major baseball city and the Reds have amazingly supportive fans. Being a rather neutral observer when I arrived at the Great American Ballpark, I couldn’t help but to get caught up in the all excitement and revelry. Plus that ballpark has great hot dogs. I became a Cincinnati Reds fan that day and looked forward to following the games with Tony and maybe even seeing another one when I visited him. Naturally I was as disappointed as he was when we returned home and found his application still sitting on his desk. At least the envelope was stamped.

Donovan McNabb was born on November 25, 1976 and is the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Sports are popular in Philadelphia, as they typically are with most major cities, and are an essential aspect of the city’s culture. Bars and clubs will frequently have jerseys and photos hung on the wall and of course many places in Philadelphia are named after one of their professional sports teams. It stands to reason that McNabb is an extremely popular person in Philadelphia. He has played with the Eagles since his arrival in Philadelphia in 1999. He was selected as the second overall pick in that year’s draft series and has been with the Eagles since then. Naturally, Philadelphia considers him to be one of theirs.

Generally the guests in the Philadelphia hotels are in town to see the opposing team if they end up going to a game, but that’s just fine with Philadelphians as they like to have some opposition to exchange phrases with during a great football game. And they have more than enough love and support for their team and their quarterback than many cities have for their own. Some people say you can evaluate the support for any major team based on the color of their stands. This of course means that the more support that exists, the more fans will show up in team colors.

The support the fans feel for McNabb is not undeserved. Between the years 2001 and 2004 he led his team to four consecutive division championships, the Eagles are of the NFC east division. He also led them to one Super Bowl against the New England Patriots, though they did not take home the title. McNabb has the all-time career leader status in pass attempts, pass completions, winning games, passing touchdowns and yards passed, which is a pretty impressive status. He attended Syracuse University though he had also been approached by the University of Nebraska and almost went there due to his interest in working with coach Tom Osborne.

My best friend, who is a world-class traveller and stayed in some of the Best Hotels Hong Kong has, gave me a list of places I must see while I’m in Hong Kong on a business trip. She said the list isn’t in any particular order, but that they were what she fell in love with about one of the biggest cities in the world. I wasn’t to sure, but, I do adore my friend, so I did bring the list along with me, even though I didn’t think I’d have time to check any of them out.

When I arrived to Hong Kong, a note was waiting for me when I checked into my hotel. The note stated that one of my business appointments cancelled. The meeting was for the next day, for the whole day actually, so I thought this would give me a chance to check out my friends list of things to do in Hong Kong. First on her list was to check out the midnight shopping. She said the city, like New York, never sleeps and they never stop shopping. I decided to skip that one. I’m not much of a night person.

The next on her list was to see what she considered the coolest bridge, better that the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. I decided to check this one out, since I am an architect. My friend was right. the Tsing Ma Bridge is the coolest bridge I’ve ever seen. Beautifully constructed, approximately 2 kilometers long and about 55,000 tons of material. It links Hong Kong to the new airport at Chek Lap Kok. Definitely a new landmark for Hong Kong.

I was hungry, and luckily, she had a restaurant for me to dine at. Mak’s Noodle. I found it to be bright and spacious. The wait staff was extremely pleasant and professional. I had a bowl of shrimp wontons and it only cost me $3.00! She was on the mark about this place. Good inexpensive food with a great atmosphere. For a late afternoon refreshment, I went colonial and walked into the Peninsula Hotel Lobby in Tsimshatsui. I was treated to a traditional English tea, complete with cucumber sandwiches, scones served with jam and cream, and of course one of the best hot teas I’ve ever had. Now for dinner, I went to the next restaurant she listed, the International Curry House in Wanchai. I can’t say enough about the mouth watering entries. I managed to order a more milder dish, the vindaloo fish, and I’m thankful for that because it was on the hot spicy side, but still a delicious zesty curry dish.

I had to send my friend a postcard from all of the spots I visited which were on her list and I wrote in capital letters, THANKS!

The Championships Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament of its kind in the entire world. The first one was in 1877 and it has been making history ever since. So if you want to be a part of that history how can you score some tickets to the big show? Well it has become increasingly easier because of the internet.

A good place to start is on the official web site for Wimbledon. It is one of the more comprehensive sites online to give you up to the minute Wimbledon news. As most people who are attending the event probably do not reside in the area it is best to see if there are any packages available. The official site has packages for even those tennis fans that are on a budget. And let’s face it who really isn’t on a budget these days? These packages also provide the purchaser with accommodations so every little detail is taken care of .

The most budget friendly package available is called the Wimbledon experience tour. It offers the buyer a day at the Championships and one night’s accommodation.

The next package is called The Wimbledon Championships package. It has two days of tennis plus three night of hotel.

The Wimbledon semi finals tour includes tickets to the men’s and ladies semi final matches and three nights in a hotel.

The ultimate package is the Wimbledon finals tour. It offers tickets to the men’s and ladies final membership to the Gatsby club for your stay duration and three night’s hotel room.

The five star experience goes for about $8,000 US and the budget friendly option comes in at about $800 US currency.

It’s nice to see that they have several options when it comes to Wimbledon tickets. But if you can’t go for the official site just make sure to always verify your buyer and check return policies! Wimbledon is pure history, it would be amazing to be a part of it!

Tennis is one of those truly great international sports. But there will always be a rivalry between the athletes of the United States and those of the rest of the world.

Since American Pete Sampras has retired, there has been a void in the male American tennis spectrum. For awhile it looked as if Andy Roddick could fill that void, but he fell again and again to former world number one Roger Federer. And in turn, Federer gave up his throne to Rafael Nadal.

There is however, on great equalizer between Sampras, who has won the most Grand Slam titles of any other male tennis player and Roger Federer, who is trying to chase his record, The French Open. The title eluded Sampras his entire career, and Federer has yet to win at Roland Garros.

Nadal, however is on the top of his game on the clay courts. For The French Open 2009 he is looking for his fourth consecutive title.

Sampras won Wimbledon seven times, the most of any male singles player and both Federer and Roddick have seen success there as well. Wimbledon live is always an interesting match-up to watch.

Is there anyone out there, who can knock Nadal from the World number one ranking? Perhaps, but only The French Open and Wimbledon will be a better indication.
