The Lalbagh Garden of Bangalore, India

Well known for the exceptional planning, layout and design, Lalbagh Garden is also well regarded for their scientific achievements and well appreciated for the utter beauty. Many locals often walk through the park as a way to escape the busy city streets, the historical landmarks and the artwork set amongst the trees and the numerous varieties of flowers make the perfect setting for peaceful walks and contemplation.
There are roadways and bike paths that wind through the park, as well as shady overgrown areas, or wide open spaces for children to play. The research center offers courses on botany and genetics, as well as introductory courses on the care and the acclimatization of the various species from all regions of the planet. The entire city’s plant life has benefited from the study that has taken place at Lalbagh, as well as has the other educational institutions not only of the country of India, but throughout the rest of the world as well.

There are many artistic and architectural structures located in the park, and of them, the Glass House is the most well known. Built during 1889, in the shape of a diamond, it was constructed in honor of a visit by the Prince of Wales. Today it is used twice a year to house the exotic species that are exhibited in the flower shows. There are cottages and lecture halls, as well as a bandstand. This has become a center meeting place for many in the city of Bangalore, and a favorite tourist destination for many from around the world.
